yup, fish have always done fine in frozen-over
lakes… their metabolism slows down so they
don’t need as much oxygen.
i just find it curious to read the official
‘explanations’ for so many of these unexplained
animal deaths. whether it’s ‘winter kill’, poisonous
lichens, deadly algae, or even noxious fleas, the
explanations themselves leave much to be desired.
