Dead fish lead to Carlton park closure
    NEWS TRIBUNE

Authorities have closed Chub Lake Park south of Carlton because of
large numbers of dead fish in the lake.

No swimming, water-skiing, fishing or other water-related activities
are allowed until further notice, the Carlton County Sheriff’s
Department announced Friday. Fish from the lake should not be eaten,
and pets should not be allowed to drink, swim or wade in the lake.

The cause of the fish deaths is unknown. Representatives from the
Minnesota Department of Natural Resources’ Duluth fisheries office
collected water and fish samples Thursday and Friday in an effort to
make a determination. Test results are expected within a week.
