Hundreds of ducks die from breathing in fungus

CHILLIWACK (NEWS1130) – A fungus is responsible for killing hundreds of
ducks in Chilliwack last week. People visiting Sardis Park were
horrified to see dead and dying mallards everywhere, as city staff
filled black plastic garbage bags with their carcasses.
Tests done in Abbotsford confirm the ducks breathed in a fungus as they
ate mouldy feed.

The fungus can kill thousands of birds at a time. There is no danger
to people.
