LONG BEACH ISLAND, NJ-July 24, 2005 — Officials closed miles of beaches
in part of New Jersey during the weekend because thousands of dead fish
washed up on shore.
The fish washed ashore along the Harvey Cedars beaches on Long Beach
Island, in Ocean County, New Jersey.
The health department tested the water and found nothing unusual or
harmful to humans.
Police say the fish may have come from a fishing boat off shore.
